KASHMIRI JEERA (CUMIN)
Commonly known as “kashmiri jeera” or “shahi jeera” (royal cumin), black cumin is native to Kashmir region and scrubby slopes of Himalayas. This spice is scientifically called Bunium Bulbocastanum and is widely used in dishes. In fact it has got one of its common name_ shahi jeera_ from the fact that it was used in the royal dishes in the reign of mughals.
